The MEMS and Nanotechnology Exchange at the Corporation for National Research Initiatives (CNRI) is looking for an engineer to work as part of our MEMS process development technical staff. This position will require significant work in a clean room laboratory environment and the ability to develop a microelectronics process that can be merged with MEMS. This person will need to have considerable technical knowledge as well as "hands on" and "real world" experience and the ability to interface extremely well with our engineers and customers. RequirementsWe are looking for CMOS engineers at the MS or PhD level with at least 5 years of experience in the design and fabrication of microelectronic devices and CMOS integrated circuits. Successful candidates will have ample relevant experience in performing various CMOS processes including: photolithography, dry etching, thin-film deposition, thermal processes, metrology, etc. as well as performing the process development to integrate these processing steps into a full process sequence with high yields. The candidate should also have experience in using IC design tools such as Cadence, T-CAD, etc. Must be a self-starter, willing to tackle hard problems, able to work in a team oriented environment, and able to quickly deliver results to our customers. Preferable that candidate also have familiarity with MEMS fabrication techniques as well as how to integrate CMOS with MEMS. Candidate must have very good to excellent "engineering intuition." Knowledge of device physics and materials science such as basic electronic component material properties and how to measure these properties using test structures will be most useful. Candidates must also have sufficient computer skills in Unix, Linux and Microsoft environments. U.S. citizenship is required. Excellent written and oral communications skills are also required. ResponsibilitiesMEMS Exchange engineers and technicians are responsible for performing processing work on MEMS development projects for our customers. These projects range from basic research to full-blown product development programs. The engineers and technicians are required to perform process development work, including debugging processes and process sequences, in order to be able to successfully implement working devices for our customers. Persons must have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and on very tight time schedules. Must also need to be able to interface directly with customers. ApplicationInterested candidates (U.S. Citizens only) should forward their resumes to Michael Huff at [email protected]. The MEMS Exchange is located in the suburban Washington, DC high tech corridor of Reston, VA, and housed in new facilities which include a class 10 clean room. CNRI is an equal opportunity employer, has great benefits and pays at industry competitive rates. For more information, visit http://www.mems-exchange.org |
