Overview

The Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) is a national resource for innovation in the process industry. CPI recently merged with the Centre of Excellence for Nanotechnology and Molecular Photonic Systems (Cenamps) and is leading the development of the new Plastic Electronics Technology Centre (PETeC), based at Sedgefield. PETeC will be an internationally recognised facility for the development and commercialisation of printed electronic devices and flexible functional materials.

Requirements

The post requires a PhD or equivalent in organic electronics and extensive practical experience of global manufacturing practice for the AMLCD display industry. Customer liaison will include international travel.

Responsibilities

To manage a team of scientists in creating novel routes to manufacturing plastic electronic devices (OFET, OPV, SSL etc). You will be responsible for directing R&D in the areas of lithography, deposition and etching for thin-film electronic devices.
