(USI), a custom manufacturer of Thin Film circuits, interconnects and related devices, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Process Engineer to join our team in our fast paced, Lean manufacturing facility in Hollis, NH (10 miles west of Nashua). RequirementsSuccessful candidate will be involved in a typical technology development cycle which includes many tasks, from engaging in process development activities, establishing the manufacturability of the developed process, establishing process control systems, to developing and instituting equipment maintenance and monitoring procedures. More specifically, at USI, this will involve overseeing and optimizing the processes used in manufacturing to fabricate thin film devices using cleaning, sputtering, positive liquid photoresist imaging, polyimide, exposure, developing, electroplating, wet etching, RIE, and PECVD operations. ResponsibilitiesPrimary Duties and Responsibilities: • Defines requirements, goals and milestones for a new technology process. • Defines and establishes process flow, procedures and equipment configuration of a process module for a new assembly technology. • Selects and develops material and equipment for the process to meet quality, reliability, cost, yield, productivity and manufacturability requirements. • Plans and conducts experiments throughout stages of development to characterize process windows. • Drives improvements on quality, reliability, cost, yield, process stability/capability, productivity and safety/ergonomic over variables such as material, method, equipment, environment and operating personnel. • Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education, statistical knowledge and problem-solving tools. • Establishes process control system for the new manufacturing process. • Writes specification on process operation procedures, metrology procedures and yield loss codes. • Provide training and direction to Manufacturing Engineering Technicians and operators. • Develops strategy to resolve moderately difficult problems. • Transfers process to high volume manufacturing and provide support. • Support and implement Lean manufacturing principles and visual systems. Education and/or Experience: • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related science. • 5 – 10 years experience working with MEMS devices in a similar role. • Experience with Lean manufacturing concepts a plus. • Team player with effective oral and written communication skills.
