Overview

Analog Devices’ Micromachined Products Division (MPD) is among the company’s fastest growing businesses and among its most exciting. By leveraging Analog Devices’ 40 year legacy of innovative signal processing technology with over fifteen years of MEMS experience, ADI’s iMEMS® (integrated Micro Electro Mechanical System) technology integrates tiny moving mechanical structures with advanced signal processing circuits into a single package. The result is innovative MEMS inertial sensors that address a wide range of design requirements starting with low power consumption, small size, and reliability (consistent performance over temperature, and shock survivability).

Requirements

Job Requirements: MS or PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Material Knowledge of MEMs wafer fab technologies, semiconductor processing, Electrical, Mechanical, Process characterization and layout required. Understands theory of Mechanical and Electrical systems utilized in MEMs operation. Additional Job Requirements: 3 years of experience in the MEMS semiconductor and MEMS process and characterization preferred Knowledge of SPC, DOE and FMEA six sigma tool is a plus Knowledge of foundry CMOS technologies preferred

Responsibilities

Currently the Micromachined Products Division has a position for a Senior Process Development Engineer position in the MEMS Advanced Process development group. This is a one year temporary assignment. This position will conceive novel, next generation technologies for a diversity of product applications. Specific responsibilities would include: • Brainstorming and generating unit processes and integration schemes for the development of MEMS devices including pressure sensor and inertial sensors. • Developing and evaluating manufacturability of new unit processes used in the manufacture of MEMS devices, such as deposition, deep etching, high aspect ratio etching and release of MEMS elements using Silicon, polysilicon, glass, Epi or other suitable MEMS materials • Leading the process integration of new unit processes to provide a robust manufacturable process that is ready for qualification and transfer to manufacturing • Working with the reliability and manufacturing groups to streamline the qualification and transfer to manufacturing • Working with the product line to understand the process/product interactions and identify weakness and mismatch between the process and the product performance • Working with the product lines and product characterization through Etest, Probe, assembly, test and product electrical and mechanical characterization for process and product verification and validation • Providing characterization support to fully characterize the product performance on new MEMS technologies. • Design and process integration of inertial sensor, coordinating the test and packaging to complete the rapid prototyping effort. • Working with Packaging Organization to find compatible solutions through product innovation and creation • Integration of the MEMS devices with commodity/foundry CMOS electronics and packaging/protecting the moving MEMS devices to be compatible with Standard assembly and test practices.
