Overview

Chang Liu's research group at Northwestern University is hiring a process engineer or a postdoc with experience in silicon microfabrication and scanning probe applications. The engineer position is meant to be a steady position in the group that will last. A postdoc is meant to stay for <3 years. No preference will be given to applicant for either type of employment. The person will be undertaking research in the area of micro/nano fabrication of scanning probes and dip pen nanolithography tools for nanofabrication and nanomanufacturing.

Requirements

MS or Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, or Chemistry. 2 years of successful research experience in MEMS and micromachining. Experience in silicon processes. Prior experience of using and applying scanning probe microscopy (SPM) a plus.

Responsibilities

- Design, fabrication, and characterization of MEMS. - mechanical and electrical design. - report writing. - proposal writing.
