
Microfabrication Process TechnicianMEMS and Nanotechnology Exchange (Reston, Virginia)Phone: 703-262-5368 Fax: 703-262-5367 For more information: http://www.mems-exchange.org/ OverviewThe MEMS and Nanotechnology Exchange at the Corporation for National Research Initiatives (CNRI) is looking for a process technician to work full-time as part of our process development and fabrication service technical staff. This position will primarily involve working in a clean room laboratory environment, fabricating prototype micro and nano devices. This involves utilizing a wide diversity of fabrication techniques and process technologies for our large and growing customer base. This person will preferably have considerable "hands on" and "real world" process or device experience as well as the ability to interface well with our engineers and customers. RequirementsWe are looking for technicians preferably with at least 2 years of relevant work experience in microfabrication of electronics or microsystems or experience with fabrication equipment. Relevant microfabrication work experience may include: performing photolithography, wet and dry etching, DRIE, wafer bonding, thin-film deposition, thermal processes, metrology, etc. Relevant equipment work experience may include: trouble-shooting and repairing; maintenance; and operation of electro-mechanical systems and/or semiconductor process equipment. The ability to quickly learn how to operate, maintain and repair microfabrication processing equipment will also be required. It would also be beneficial if the candidate has experience in using computers and specifically CAD software tools. Must be a self-starter, willing to tackle hard problems, able to work in a team oriented environment, and able to quickly deliver quality results to our customers. Suitable candidates should have good to excellent "engineering intuition." Candidates should also have sufficient computer skills in Unix, Linux and/or Microsoft environments. U.S. citizenship is required. Excellent written and oral communications skills are also required. ResponsibilitiesMEMS and Nanotechnology Exchange technicians are responsible for performing processing work on MEMS, NEMS and Nanotechnology development projects for our customers. These projects range from basic research to full-blown product development programs. The technicians are required to perform process development work, including debugging processes and process sequences, in order to be able to successfully implement working devices for our customers. Persons must have the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, on very tight time schedules, and deliver high quality results.
