Overview

The H.T. Soh Laboratory at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) is recruiting skilled and motivated Research Faculty (Assistant Professional Research Scientist or Engineer), which is a long-term academic position at the University of California. The primary responsibility of the position is to develop novel microfluidic devices and systems to support the group's research in areas of Bioseparations (cell sorting) and Integrated Biosensors. The work will involve all aspects of system development: modeling, design, fabrication, instrumentation and characterization.

Requirements

Requirements include: Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics or related Engineering disciplines. Expertise with fluidic mechanics and microfluidic device design, fabrication and instrumentation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with cell biology and cell culturing is desirable.

Responsibilities

The candidate is expected to be self-motivated and to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary research setting. Research programs will be conducted collaboratively within the Institute for Collaborative Technology at UCSB and with collaborators at other universities.
