Micro/Nano Fabrication Research Associate

Overview

As part of an exciting program to develop new biomedical imaging and microscopy technologies, the Imaging Physics Laboratory of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, National Institutes of Health (NIH) is recruiting a full-time contractor in the area of micro and nano fabrications. The position involves diverse, research oriented fabrication projects including lithography, vacuum deposition techniques and light, electron and scanning probe microscopy inspection techniques. The term of the position is one year and extendable to multiple years. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's education and experience.

Requirements

The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or experimental physics with practical experience in micro/nano fabrication.

Responsibilities

Fabrication of key components in experimental imaging and microscopy instruments using micro/nano fabrication techniques, and generate inspection reports using standard metrology tools. A car is required for frequent trips between NIH and the NIST Nanofab facility about 15 minutes away.
