Our products are designed to accurately dispense a wide range of fluid types in micro-amounts for demanding imaging and fabricating applications. We seek a Failure Analysis Engineer to join our Santa Clara, CA MEMS inkjet printhead manufacturing and R&D operations. This position will evaluate materials used throughout the manufacturing and development process, using routine and non-routine analysis and data interpretation for SEM, AFM and XRD and other analysis tools. You will work in a clean room environment, requiring clean room gowning (smock, hood, gloves, booties, etc.). Ideal candidates will have Masters or PhD in Material Science, MEMS, Material Engineering , Physics, Applied Physics or a related field and, preferably, three or more years hands-on experience working with metrology tools like SEM, FIB, XRD, XRR, AFM, profilometers. Excellent analytical skills. Strong working knowledge of standard office software, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work in clean room environment. Able to work in a very competitive, fast-paced multidisciplinary environment. Able to prioritize and finish assigned work in an efficient and timely manner with minimum supervision. Able to do basic troubleshooting of metrology tools by following user manuals ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Perform analysis, non-routine analysis and data interpretation for SEM, AFM, XRD and other analysis tools. Prepare analysis reports and communicate with customers. Complete technical presentations to manufacturing and engineering groups. Interface with manufacturing and engineering departments for metrology-related items. Use good problem solving and project management skills to solve a wide array of technical problems. Communicate especially well and motivate others outside and inside the department to resolve problems and accomplish work through various company resources. Organize technical problem solving strategies clearly and present them effectively to all concerned parties.
