Overview

At Suss MicroTec, Inc., our business is to supply innovative technology for products used by our high tech customers, who are today's global leaders in industries producing cutting edge products such as smart phones and media tablets. We drive the technologies used for LED's, MEMS, 3-D technology and Advanced Packaging at the wafer level.
We're looking for an experienced Applications Engineer for our wafer bonding process development group to provide applications support and process demonstrations for our target markets of 3D Integration and Packaging, Advanced MEMS, LED and Power Devices. You will work in our new state of the art Clean Room at our Sunnyvale, CA, office. The focus will be on Thin Wafer Handling Applications.
As a Suss MicroTec, Inc., Applications Engineer you will become part of a dynamic environment, working with high precision tools, and striving to provide the highest level of service, while solving complex problems and providing solutions in meeting and addressing the challenges presented by our customers.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
B.S. in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science or Electrical Engineering; MS degree a plus.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals with minimal supervision. Demonstrated competence with PC based software including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and statistical design of experiments.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five years process experience in the semiconductor industry.
Experience with wafer bonding applications desired, in depth experience with resist coating process a requirement. Experience with MEMS wafer level packaging process development highly desirable.
Demonstrated understanding and application of DOE, failure analysis methodologies and process optimization techniques required.

Responsibilities

Set up and perform process demonstrations of Suss products for customers: Prepare and run samples to the required specifications in the allotted time period and provide detailed process reports. Analyze customer process challenges and develop an appropriate solution.
Support the Product Development Group in the implementation and qualification of equipment design changes.
Support marketing strategies including product presentations, consultations and technical publications.
Publish technical papers and present technical materials at trade conferences.
Communicate and coordinate with SUSS partners around the world to support SUSS customers.
Visit accounts and support technical relations with customers in coordination with the sales team.
U.S. and International Travel required
