FUJIFILM Dimatix, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of FUJIFILM Corporation, is the world's premier provider of piezoelectric ink jet printheads. Our products are designed to accurately dispense a wide range of fluid types in micro-amounts for demanding imaging and fabricating applications.

We seek an Engineer Manager to join our rapidly expanding Santa Clara, CA MEMS inkjet printhead manufacturing and R&D operations. This position will fill a critical role in the development of our Sustaining Engineering organization, and will interact across all functions of the organization. Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience leading the development of Sustaining Engineering organizations in expanding manufacturing and engineering organizations.

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for leadership and daily management of Sustaining Engineering team supporting the continued development of a fast growing MEMS Wafer Fabrication environment. Sets technical direction with respect to toolset and process technology, defining and implementing manufacturing systems and for developing and mentoring a group of functional engineers.

REQUIRED: BS in Materials/Chemistry/Physics or related field with preference given to a MS or PhD. 10 or more years experience within semiconductor industry, preferably MEMS. Organizational skills to track and coordinate multiple concurrent projects. Exceptional interpersonal skills with both peers and as supervisor. Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Proven ability to leverage and delegate responsibility when managing capable professionals. Proven capability in complex technical problem solving, including group design activities.

DESIRED: Career development experience with technical professionals MEMS industry experience.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Lead and management of group of sustaining engineers, covering photolithography, wet and dry etch, plating, deposition systems, bonding and saw and grind. Partner with development engineering and manufacturing to drive yield improvement, process control and productivity improvements, and new product introduction. Develop, implement and maintain systems for sustained improvement in manufacturing objectives, including: yield, output, cost and safety. Drive use of problem solving methodologies (e.g. FMEA, SPC, Control Plans, QFD and Design of Experiments) across Sustaining Engineering community Responsible for budgetary and strategic financial planning tools and cost reduction methodologies. Facilitate problem solving and brainstorming activities, and participates in and supports cross-functional teams. Personnel development of engineering team and its members

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Management of Engineering group, team identity, promoting efficient teamwork. Supervision of junior and senior level engineers
