We seek an Engineer Manager to join our rapidly expanding Santa Clara, CA MEMS inkjet printhead manufacturing and R&D operations. This position will fill a critical role in the development of our Sustaining Engineering organization, and will interact across all functions of the organization. Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience leading the development of Sustaining Engineering organizations in expanding manufacturing and engineering organizations. POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for leadership and daily management of Sustaining Engineering team supporting the continued development of a fast growing MEMS Wafer Fabrication environment. Sets technical direction with respect to toolset and process technology, defining and implementing manufacturing systems and for developing and mentoring a group of functional engineers. Proven ability to leverage and delegate responsibility when managing capable professionals. Proven capability in complex technical problem solving, including group design activities. ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Lead and management of group of sustaining engineers, covering photolithography, wet and dry etch, plating, deposition systems, bonding and saw and grind. Partner with development engineering and manufacturing to drive yield improvement, process control and productivity improvements, and new product introduction. Develop, implement and maintain systems for sustained improvement in manufacturing objectives, including: yield, output, cost and safety. Drive use of problem solving methodologies (e.g. FMEA, SPC, Control Plans, QFD and Design of Experiments) across Sustaining Engineering community Responsible for budgetary and strategic financial planning tools and cost reduction methodologies. Facilitate problem solving and brainstorming activities, and participates in and supports cross-functional teams. Personnel development of engineering team and its members SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Management of Engineering group, team identity, promoting efficient teamwork.
