Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: * High school diploma and two years of experience. College coursework or vocational training may substitute for the required experience. Desired Qualifications: * An Associate's degree in Electronic Engineering or 3 years of relevant experience. Some level of expertise in equipment troubleshooting and repair is required. Circuit board level troubleshooting is a plus. Salary: $27,433 - $32,000, commensurate with experience. Responsibilities

The College of Engineering and Computing is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to join its team of professionals. The successful incumbent will be responsible for effecting repairs on thin and thick film process equipment, and analytical instrumentation, and assists with tool installations. Additional duties include, but are not limited to: * Performs preventative maintenance on lab instruments and support equipment, such as vacuum pumps and water chillers. * Monitors facility conditions and reports utilities related issues to Lab Manager. Submits and tracks work orders. * Maintains lab organization and stocks supplies. Coordinates lab cleaning. * Assists in writing work instructions [SOPs] for equipment, processes, and procedures related to the facility. * Maintains safety records and logs. Follows proper chemical storage and hazardous waste management practices in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations.
