Peter,

That depends upon the nature of the spheres. First of all, what nature of
medium are they suspended in? What viscosity, volatility, etc? Depending on the
nature of the material, a couple of deposition methods would be spin coating or
spray coating.

In either case, the general procedure would be to apply the material in wet
form, and then heat to drive off the liquid medium of the colloidal suspension.

Best Regards,
Chad Brubaker

Subject: [mems-talk] Deposition of Nanometer Colloidal Spheres

Does anyone have a procedure for depositing a few monolayers of ~100nm diameter
silica (or polystyrene) colloidal spheres on a substrate?

Thanks,
Peter Zannitto
