Benjamin,
         The only plasma etch for aluminum on silicon that I know of is a
chlorine plasma.  Usable but dangerous.  For example the units I used at AMD 20
years ago cost me $1,000,000.00 for the built in safety features.  If lift off
is a practical solution I can help you with a dry lift off approach.  Bill
