Hi Michaela,

a good overview of the influence on SiO2-surfaces by
different cleaning procedures is described by P.
Mueller-Buschbaum in:
"Influence of surface cleaning on dewetting of thin
polystyrene films"
Eur. Phys. J. E 12, 443–448 (2003)
There are two procedures described yielding
SiO2-surfaces with contact angle against water below
2°.

Best regards

Harald
