The smallest available thickness of soda lime glass (which is produced by
using a special float process) is 0.4 mm. The main reason for this limit is
the manufacturing process (floating), but of course also the small demand
for a lower thickness.

Thinner soda lime glass can be produced by grinding/polishing (e.g. 0.2 mm).

Subject: [mems-talk] Thin soda lime glass sheet

Hi all,

I’m interest in very thin soda lime glass, 0.2 mm, but the most thin I

can find is 0.5 mm. I don’t know if this is some impossible thickens.
Can any body say something about this?
