Let me answer part of your question here in the
mems-talk forum but lets continue our discussion
outside of the forum until we have a solution and then
we'll post it for the benefit of the group.

You do not need to have a C-compiler to run macros in
the UPI, there is a built-in C interpreter that
enables you to run raw C-code. L-Edit will interpret
and execute each command as it parses it. I will
resend the interpreted example I sent you to the
e-mail address you gave so you can see how it works.
