Hello everybody,

  I am currently trying to estimate the mechanical behavior of micromachined
devices. However, as many of you may know, whenever you have a spring-mass
system, there are at least two types of damping mechanisms: damping from air
molecules and structural damping.

  My question is how we can take the effects of these two damping mechanisms
into account? I am looking for formulas, coefficients, or models which let me
write the proper (differential) equations based on them.

  Any help would be highly appreciated.
