Hi everybody

       I'm writing a technical paper, and need this information.

a) Polarization dependent loss (PDL). what is the typical value for MEMS
devices, particularly optical switches? What is the typical value switches
based on non-MEMS technology?

c) what is the standard that define the switching speed, PDL, crosstalk
acceptable for switches? i often seen telecordia, ...even IEEE FTTI being
mentioned as sort of 'standard'.

b) i know that gold has 98% reflectance for optical communication wavelength
 Can anybody give a reference to this fact? (book, paper)
