Hi,Dear all,
I am doing FEM analysis in ABAQUS.My design is a large-size electric-thermal
micromirror,which consists of a mesh-shape bimorph beam (Al-PolySi-SiO2)and a
mirror plate, just like a cantilever with tip load(mass). The thing I will concern
is how to simulate the abrupt change in displacement and ripple deformation on
surface under certain input power, and nonlinear(inelastic) response.
I first constructed a meshed model with 30,000 nodes and 16,000 elements in
CoventorWare, then imported its .inp file into ABAQUS:CAE for analysis.I have
several problems in running this simulation as follows,
1)Is the model in Coventor is fully compatible in ABAQUS?It is possible to
loss some node information due to some mismatch?I found several nodes undefined
in the model from CAE:Monitor:Warning.
2)What is the limit of elements handled by CAE on a P4 desktop?
3)The most troublesome one is solver divergence.I tried to adjust time increment
parameters many times, and reduced element number(9000),but still failed to make
it to converge.
How can I fix this?
Any suggestion will be appreciated.

    Zhongmin
