I've ever developed a surface-micromachined pressure sensor specifically
for oil well application. the first generation can measure pressures up to
8000 psi. the result was published in ASME:
Y. Xu, F. Jiang, Y.-C. Tai, E. Donzier, W. Loomis, and A.
Liberman, "A Surface Micromachined Nitride-Diaphragm High-Pressure Sensor
for Oil Well Application," ASME International Mechanical Engineering
Congress and Exposition, Orlando, Florida, 2000.
the second generation of the sensor can measure pressure up to 14000psi
with burst pressure exceeding 20000 psi. the problem is that the sensor
was developed for Schlumberger. I don't know if they would like to supply
this sensor. Anyway, I hope this information helps.
