• Developed comprehensive knowledge on growth mechanism of carbon nanotubes and the effect of spatial confinement of catalyst particles in micro and nano sized holes
• Developed expertise on the use of Raith 150 e-beam lithography tool, thermal and plasma CVD growth of nanotubes
• Compared the carbon nanotube growth dynamics involved with different catalyst thicknesses under thermal and plasma CVD conditions

Graduate Project: Design, fabrication, and testing of passive microfluidic mixers Apr’08 – Jun’08
• Gained hands-on experience in microfluidic device modeling and device fabrication
• CFD-GEOM and CFD-ACE tools were used in modeling and simulation respectively to design and optimize the efficiency of the passive microfluidic mixer

• UV Lithography, PDMS casting were used for fabrication
• Device was tested and characterized. The final mixing efficiency was 95% at 786 Pa/mm pressure drop

Graduate Project: Design, fabrication, and testing of MEMS-based pressure sensor Jan’08 - Mar’08
• Gained experience in Mask designing using AutoCAD, photoresist spinning, Anisotropic etching of silicon, handling mask aligners, Anodic wafer bonding and device testing
• Tested the sensor for linearity, sensitivity and hysteresis over a pressure range of 15-45 psi. Obtained good sensitivity of 83 mV/psi
• Performed device characterizations for oxide thicknesses and carried out two point and four point sheet resistivity measurements

Undergraduate Senior Project: Design of air bag deployment circuit for cars using MEMS-based accelerometer Jan’05 – Apr’05
• Gained experience on embedded programming and in implementing a smart sensor
• Designed a tilt and shock sensor using MEMS-based accelerometer (ADXL-202) and a microcontroller (Atmel 89C51). The circuit was implemented on a PCB and the device driver was written in embedded C language using Keil µVision.
