Hello,
I am attempting to analyze electrostatic pulldown behavior of several
complex-shaped cantilevers, thus am forced to resort to FEM. I am starting
by using ANSYS 7.0 in 2D mode, but get cryptic morphing errors. As long as
the cantilevers are only deflecting, and not snapping down, my analysis
works fine. However the ESSOLV macro throws a morphing error at me when I
increase the voltage between the cantilever and underlying electrode
beyond snap-down. I assume it is due to collision of the cantilever and
electrode elements. I can't however find what the macro is complaining
about - the usually helpful Help Navigator drew a blank there. I imagine
there a simple way of solving this, or do I have to restrict individual
cantilever node y-coord. through a constraint-equation ?
Thank you,
