MEMS in aviation!!!

The jet engine has a tunable outer shroud, the gap between the stationary
surface and moving turbine blades needs to be precisely controlled for
efficient engine performance. The sensor not only needs to be resistant to
hot exhaust gas but also must function at 500 C. An ideal application for a
very sensitive capacitive sensor, using a fast feedback control (PID) the
circuit to control the tunable outer shroud. The speed required requires a
single crystal microelectronic device and the extreme environment requires
this sensor device be made using silicon carbide technology.

Subject: [mems-talk] MEMS in aviation!!!

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone can help me locate some information regarding
"capacitive-based MEMS sensors in avionics", since this is my research topic
for my master's degree. I would really appreciate any kind of help, advice,
or
anything.

Best regards,

Raji Wahidy
